Family Business

Industries and corporate enterprises will all teach the Art of Dreaming – the principles of self-improvement and inner integrity to enable their people to become advanced beings

The European School of Economics Foundation was proud to present its fifth annual gala to celebrate ‘Family Business Dynasties’ in honour of Donald Trump and Kathy and Rick Hilton – two American family dynasties that have dreamed greatly in the world of business.

Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton, Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump also attended the glittering event, which took place at Cipriani, a sophisticated and unique, Italian Renaissance-inspired venue located in the heart of Manhattan.

President of the European School of Economics, Elio D’Anna, after thankful words to the guests, opened the evening explaining the vision he had to open the school, a vision which told him a business education should be more than an academic and educational learning experience, one which focused on the individual and on ethics, creativity, integrity and entrepreneurship – the inner qualities necessary to develop the next generation of global leaders of business.

The founder of ESE went on to explain that, “We live in a world made of ‘invisibility’ and that all of our thoughts, emotions, fantasies, memories and imaginings and above all, our dreams, are part of a world that is intangible and vertical to what we have learned to interpret as existence.” In fact the motto of the school is ‘Visibilia ex Invisibilibus’, the visible is born from the invisible.

Elio D’Anna, described that the mission of the school “is to create a new generation of leaders, capable of harmonizing the age-old antagonisms: Ethics and Economics, Action and Contemplation, Financial Power and Love and that this should be the mission of all schools and universities.” And maybe one day D’Anna believes, “even industries and corporate enterprises will all teach the Art of Dreaming – the principles of self-improvement and inner integrity to enable their people to become advanced beings.”

Closing his speech, D’Anna thanked his special guests of honour by stating, “You have made this a better world because of your vision, work and philanthropy”, while adding a special thank you to the contributors to the success of the evening and to the generosity that will come from every corner of the globe, “Don’t stop Dreaming! Reality is made of your Dream. It’s your dreaming substance that gives Life to the world.”

The Grand Gala was organised to benefit the ESE Foundation’s scholarship in the U.S. to help deserving less fortunate students in pursuing the education of their choice
